Temperature specific wax for skis and snowboards
Clean base with wax remover and allow base cleaner to completely evaporate (up to 30 minutes). Set wax iron to correct temperature setting so the wax will melt but not smoke. With the wax bar on the sole of the iron drip the wax down the length of the ski or snowboard, not allowing the iron to contact the base.
Now use the iron to melt the wax and completely cover the base, drip on more wax if needed. Pass the iron from tip to tail at a steady speed which is slow enough to leave a trail of melted wax about 3 inches long.
Don’t over heat the ski, you should not be able to feel heat on the top skin. Allow to cool completely and remove excess wax from the base and edges with plastic scraper.
